1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests, so that the site can recognise the browser between one request and the next. Cookies can be used to keep you signed in, or they can be used to follow you around — what matters is which cookies a site actually sets and why.
2. Cookies set by this website
This website sets no cookies. It has no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no social widgets, so there is nothing a cookie would be needed for. Because no cookie is set, there is no cookie banner and no cookie choice to make.
This policy describes the public website only. It will be extended before Volent starts to set a cookie of its own.
3. Local storage in your browser
The website also uses first-party localStorage for two interface choices. This is not a cookie: it is never transmitted to a server, and it stays in your browser until you clear it. An entry is written only when you use the control it belongs to.
| Key | Purpose | Written when |
|---|---|---|
volent.theme | The theme you chose, light or dark | You press the theme button |
volent.locale | The interface language you chose, so that the Volent application can open in the same language later; this website takes the language from the address of the page | You pick a language in the language menu |
Neither is an identifier, neither is used to profile you, and neither is shared with anyone. Clearing site data in your browser removes them; the website then follows your system's light or dark setting.
4. Other third-party content
The website loads no third-party content into your browser. There is no external script, no CDN font, no analytics library, no advertising pixel, no social widget and no embedded third-party iframe. Fonts are bundled with the website and served from the same origin. As with any website, the hosting provider receives the technical data of each request, such as the IP address; this is described in the Privacy Policy.
5. How to control cookies and storage
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data, usually under privacy or site settings, either globally or for one site. Browsers also offer a private or incognito mode that discards them when the window closes.
Because this website sets no cookies, blocking them changes nothing here. Blocking site data means the theme and language choices are not remembered.
6. Version and effective date
Version 1.0. Effective 2026-10-09.
How this fits with the rest of the data handled by the Service is explained in the Privacy Policy. Related documents: the Terms of Service, the Data Processing Agreement and the Imprint.
